Walking safari in Arusha National Park
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to get up close and personal with wild animals? Look no further than Arusha National Park, where you have a chance to go on a walking safari unlike any other. This park is located just over 30 minutes from Arusha city center. Upon entering the park gates, you drive through woodlands until you reach the northern region. Led by an armed ranger, the walking safari begins with an examination of various animal skulls which offers a fascinating introduction to the biodiversity of northern Tanzania. After the lesson, you stroll over bridges and through lush woodlands to reach an open field where you are most likely to see giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs and more.
Instead of staying in the jeep for the whole day, Arusha National Park offers the chance to get out of the vehicle and experience wildlife viscerally in a way not possible in other parks. From the open field, you will meander to a massive waterfall where the waters cascade from over 50 feet above. Depending on how much time you have, you can also choose to climb a nearby hill for a small hike. Our staff visited Arusha National Park in April and cannot recommend this experience enough. You will not regret it, inquire about the walking safari today!
